Protection of Employee Rights when Working with Third Parties at Boğaziçi University

Boğaziçi University has a policy that aims to guarantee the equivalent rights of its employees when it outsources its activities to third parties. The University adheres to the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey, Labour Laws and relevant legislation to protect the rights of employees. In all contracts with third parties, necessary arrangements are provided to protect the rights of employees and ensure that they have equal rights. This commitment is also included in the Strategic Plan of our university and aims to secure employee rights in outsourcing processes.

The rights of outsourced staff working under third parties, as well as those working at Boğaziçi University, are based on the labour and labour legislation in Turkey. In this context

  • Labour Law No. 4857: Provides regulations on many issues such as working hours, overtime, annual leave, rest rights, occupational safety and labour rights.
  • Law No. 6331 on Occupational Health and Safety: It includes provisions on preventing occupational accidents, improving working conditions and managing risks in the workplace.
  • Law No. 5510 on Social Security and General Health Insurance: Covers issues such as social security rights of workers, health insurance and retirement.
  • Law on Trade Unions and Collective Labour Agreements: It regulates the trade union rights of workers and the process of making collective labour agreements.

Provision of Equivalent Rights to Outsourced Employees

In cases where Boğaziçi University delegates its activities to third parties, it follows a policy to ensure that outsourced personnel have equivalent rights with university employees. The University's outsourced staff are protected in accordance with the labour and labour legislation in Turkey. Within this framework, Boğaziçi University ensures full compliance with Labour Laws and relevant legal regulations in all employment contracts. This approach is part of the University's commitment to protecting employee rights, which is also included in the University's Strategic Plan.
