STUDENTS FROM ABROAD APPLICATION

Admission of students from abroad to Undergraduate Programs is conducted in accordance with the provisions of “Rules Governing Admission of Students from Abroad” issued by the Higher Education Council (YÖK) and Boğaziçi University’s Directives Governing Application, Admission, and Registration of Students from Abroad to Undergraduate Programs of Boğaziçi University”

*You may apply without the English proficiency score report required by the program. Upon acceptance, you will need to provide the required scores of the English proficiency before the date of registration.

ONLINE APPLICATION SYSTEM GUIDE

Admission of students from abroad to undergraduate programs must be made online and submitted through the online system after all of the required steps have been completed. You do not need to complete the application process in one session. By creating a username and password, you can save the application file and open it with a user name and password during the application file log in again to modify the saved (but not yet submitted) information.

The Online Application System will be opened on 9 July 2024 at 10.00, local time. It will be closed to the creation of new user accounts 16 July 2024 at 17.00, local time. The application system will be closed on 16 July 2024 at 17.30, local time.

Once you enter the system, use the links at the top of the page to navigate through the application process. It is necessary to scan and upload supporting documents (transcript, score reports, etc.) to the system. Fully completed application forms must be sent to the Registrar’s Office through the online system by clicking on the “Submit Application” button.

It is not possible to make changes to submitted application forms after they have been submitted. Please be sure that you have all of the required information and documents before you submit your application.

Please complete your application promptly, taking into account the application procedures and the submission deadline.

Applicants who are admitted to a undergraduate program at Boğaziçi University must submit all official documents to the program at the time of registration, to verify the information declared during the application process.

Boğaziçi University reserves the right to cancel an offer of admission if a fraudulent application was submitted.

→ The Scholarship Office was established on 1 November 1995 and is directly under the Rectorate for the purpose of carrying out scholarship procedures.

→ The aim of the Scholarship Office is to provide scholarship support to successful and financially underprivileged students of Boğaziçi University in order to enable them to continue their education and to benefit from the academic and social opportunities offered by the University at the highest level.

→ The Scholarship Office Coordinator's Office operates under the supervision of the Dean of Student Affairs and the Scholarship Committee and has 3 full-time employees.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT NETWORK (BUNIS)

International Network Boğaziçi (ESN Boğaziçi) or Boğaziçi University International Student Network (BUNIS) is a group of volunteer students from Boğaziçi University who strive to help their international students enjoy their experience in Boğaziçi and Istanbul. In 2009, we were founded as an ESN chapter by a few Boğaziçi students who really wanted to create a community to help international students during their stay and get as much experience out of it as possible. In 2012, we became an official student club of Boğaziçi University and adopted the name BUNIS. Today, we host around 250 exchange students per year and work with a team of 80 student volunteers.

Boğaziçi University International Relations Office

Boğaziçi University International Relations Office provides a comprehensive counselling service for international students. The office provides students with basic information about the university, from the application process to the grading system, from campus life to security rules. In addition, it aims to facilitate the adaptation process of students by providing guidance on issues such as student visa and residence permit procedures, health insurance, transport and living conditions in Istanbul.

In addition, detailed information is also provided on topics such as language, currency, food and beverage culture, climate conditions, mobile phone usage, regulations on drug and alcohol use, and access to health services in Turkey. The information provided by the Office of International Relations guides international students to adapt to their daily lives both at the university and in Istanbul more quickly and smoothly.

Scholarships for Foreign Students

Foreign students from low- or lower-middle-income countries or who have economic needs can also apply for scholarships offered by Boğaziçi University Scholarship Officeand benefit from them if they are deemed eligible. In addition, students who wish to apply to graduate programmes or current students can apply for the ‘Turkey Scholarships’ programme and the scholarships provided by TÜBİTAK for international students. Turkey Scholarships is a publicly funded higher education scholarship programme of the Republic of Turkey for international students. The primary objective of this scholarship programme is to provide equal opportunities to successful students from all over the world to receive scholarship education at international standards.

General Health Insurance for Foreign Students

According to Article 60 of the Social Security and General Health Insurance Law No. 5510, foreign students studying in Turkey can apply for general health insurance to the Provincial Directorate of Social Security or Social Security Centre in the province where they are located within three months from the date of their first enrolment. The application requires a petition and a student certificate from their school showing the date of first enrolment. Foreign students are insured for general health insurance for one year from the day following the application. Foreign students who are insured must pay the general health insurance premium calculated over the 30-day amount of one third of the lower limit of daily earnings based on the premium determined according to Article 82 of the Law.

Boğaziçi University International Student Network Club (BUNIS)

Boğaziçi University International Student Network (BUNIS) or Erasmus Student Network Boğaziçi (ESN Boğaziçi) is an official student club with 80 student volunteers, founded by Boğaziçi University students who are keen to help Erasmus/exchange students during their stay in Turkey and gain as much experience as possible from it. The club's website provides event announcements as well as a survival guide to help foreign students with their student experience in Turkey and Boğaziçi University. This guide includes information on transport and public transport in Istanbul, information about other student clubs at Boğaziçi University, tips on using mobile phones in Turkey, practical information for emergencies and contact numbers.
