15.2.6 Sustainable management of land for tourism and training
Educational Programmes on Sustainable Management of Land for Tourism
Boğaziçi University offers specialized educational programmes for local and national communities on sustainable management of land for tourism through its Lifelong Learning Centre (BÜYEM). The Agribusiness Certificate Programmes, designed for managers and producers, provide in-depth knowledge on new-generation agribusiness practices and sustainable land management techniques.
These programmes emphasize the ecological and sustainable use of agricultural and tourism lands, addressing the challenges faced by the sector. Delivered by leading faculty members from Boğaziçi University and other global institutions, the training is available in flexible formats, including in-class, distance learning, or hybrid options.
Participants who successfully complete the programme receive a certificate from Boğaziçi University, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to contribute to sustainable tourism and agricultural practices at local, national, and global levels.

Sustainable Land Management Trainings and Social Awareness Activities in Tourism
The rapid growth of the global tourism sector makes it imperative to protect natural resources and manage tourism lands in a sustainable manner. Boğaziçi University conducts various academic programmes and educational activities to promote sustainable land management in tourism and raise public awareness. The University also hosts national and international summits and provides an awareness platform based on the principles of environmental, economic and cultural sustainability in tourism.
Sustainable Tourism Master Programme
Boğaziçi University promotes sustainable land management in the tourism sector with its Sustainable Tourism Master's Programme. This programme offers an education based on sustainability principles, taking into account environmental, economic and social balances in tourism. The Sustainable Tourism Summit, organised by Boğaziçi University Lifelong Learning Centre (BÜYEM) and Boğaziçi University Department of Tourism Management in partnership with the Association for Sustainability in Tourism (TUSDER), addresses the social, cultural and economic impacts of sustainable tourism.
