Sustainability Trainings

Within the scope of Zero Waste activities, which were decided to be implemented by the Boğaziçi University Rectorate as of April 2018, various training and awareness-raising activities are carried out by the Sustainable Green Campus Implementation Commission. In this context, “Zero Waste” trainings are provided for administrative staff and students, and informative meetings are organized with businesses such as canteens and stationery stores on the collection of recyclable waste. In addition, student and staff trainings are organized by different units covering topics such as climate change, natural resource management, environmental protection strategies, renewable energy. Recent trainings have focused on solid waste management, sustainable cleaning and business planning and implementation. The Solid Waste Management Training provides support staff with detailed information on an integrated waste management strategy that includes waste minimization, recycling and waste segregation. Sustainable Cleaning Training covers topics such as the use of environmentally friendly cleaning materials, water and energy saving methods. Business Planning and Implementation Training guides staff on how to align business planning processes with sustainability principles and manage them in an environmentally friendly manner.
